DESCRIPTION:On June 14th\, 1928\, the Packard Proving Grounds opened with a new World’s Closed Course Absolute Speed Record of 148.17 set by race car driver Leon Duray (a record unbroken for 26 years). \nHead on out to the Packard Proving Grounds in Shelby Township\, MI (49965 Van Dyke Ave.\, Shelby Township\, MI\, 48317) on Wednesday\, June 14th\, for a cruise-in car show (gates open at 5 PM for classic cars to line the boulevard)\, cake and ice cream in the Repair Garage\, site tours and more!
