Hundreds of classic car enthusiasts visited the historic Packard Proving Grounds near Utica, Michigan, on Sept. 14 for Cars ‘R’ Stars, a celebration of classic cars from all eras.

It was a beautiful day for walking the tree-lined boulevard to appreciate the shining chrome, glistening paint and spotless engine bays of about 250 cars, particularly those from the featured brand for this year’s show, Jaguar.

And of course, a classic car show at the Packard Proving Grounds would have to feature Packards manufactured at the massive assembly plant in Detroit that dates to 1903 and after decades of neglect has finally fallen to the wrecking ball — at least most of the buildings.

About a dozen Packards were on hand for Cars ‘R’ Stars, from a 1923 Packard 126 Single Six to a newly acquired 1956 Packard Caribbean Convertible.
